CEDAR VALLEY RIVER JAM CANCELLED

 

Waterloo, IA - The Twin Sports Group regretfully announces the cancellation of Cedar Valley River Jam, a two-day music festival that was to held at Riverfront Stadium on August 29 and 30. The cancellation is due to a combination of less than favorable pre-sold tickets and effects of this summer's flood.

Rochester, MN - The Northwoods League announced its 2008 Postseason All-Star Team on Monday and Waterloo Bucks designated hitter/outfielder Joey Register was named to the squad.

JAMES JONES EARNS BUCKS PLAYER OF THE YEAR HONORS

 

Waterloo, IA – The Waterloo Bucks have announced pitcher/outfielder/first baseman James Jones as the recipient of the 2008 Roth Jewelers Player of the Year. Jones, a freshman from Long Island University tied for the team lead in wins with five and finished second on the team with a .296 batting average.

WATERLOO – An offensive outburst that featured a combined 13 runs and 20 hits went the way of the visiting Mankato Moon Dogs by a 9-4 count over the home-standing Waterloo Bucks Sunday, Aug. 10.

BUCKS SHUT DOWN BY MALLARDS IN GAME TWO, 5-0

 

MADISON, WI - The Bucks were shut down Saturday night in Madison when they faced Joe Yermal, working seven shut out innings, allowing only five hits and striking out eight Bucks. Yermal’s defense did not even allow a Buck to advance to the third base.

BUCKS DROP BACK 1.5 GAMES AFTER 8-1 LOSS TO BOMBERS

 

BATTLE CREEK, MI – The Waterloo Bucks dropped back 1.5 games in the Northwoods League standings after their 8-1 defeat, splitting the series with the Battle Creek Bombers on Thursday night. This loss still ties the Bucks for the second place spot in the southern division with La Crosse and Green Bay all under Wisconsin.

BUCKS WIN GAME ONE IN MADISON, STAY WITHIN ONE AND A HALF OF FIRST PLACE

 

The Waterloo Bucks won the first game of a two-game series against the Madison Mallards 4-1. The Bucks are still within a game and a half of first place as the South Division leading Wisconsin Woodchucks were also victorious.

BOMBERS LATE RALLY COMES UP SHORT, BUCKS WIN 4-3

 

BATTLE CREEK, MI - The Waterloo Bucks defeated the Battle Creek Bombers Wednesday night 4-3 when the Bombers came short in a ninth inning rally. This win puts the Bucks one half game behind in the Northwoods League standings, tying them up with Green Bay and just under Wisconsin.

BUCKS END STREAK, LOSE TO BULLFROGS 7-2

 

GREEN BAY - The Bucks four game winning streak came to an end Thursday night when they faced the Green Bay Bullfrogs for game two of the set. The Bullfrogs defeated the Bucks by the score of 7-2, dropping the Bucks position in the standings back down to .500.
